An interesting video about fruit and the history of it. Personally, I don’t usually eat fruit nowadays on any regular basis, and the fruit I do eat is usually strawberries and blueberries when my family haven’t finished them off and they are too ripe.
The berries are the lowest in sugar content (in this video, strawberries are 4% sugar), and have antioxidant values.
However, it was interesting to see that coffee has substantially much more antioxidants than fruit did. Similarly, vitamins and minerals were in higher concentrations in green leafy vegetables than they were in fruit. And some vitamins, such as Vitamin K2, are not found in fruit and are only found in animal and dairy products.
So basically, you don’t need to have fruit, and there are better options to obtain the benefits of fruit without the sugar.
